TikTok star Maurice Harrison, known as Girlalala, died Friday at at the age of 21.
PEOPLE reports, per Broward Sheriff’s Office statement, authorities in Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., responded to a medical call and discovered “an individual in the front passenger seat of a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.”
According to the report, the individual was identified as Harrison, transported to a local medical center and pronounced dead.
Shanoyd Whyte Jr. was arrested on Nov. 14 for first-degree murder with a firearm and is being held without bond, per arrest records viewed by PEOPLE.
According to NBC Miami, Harrison had a following of more than 235,000 on TikTok.
Detectives, per the report, allege Whyte Jr. and Harrison engaged in a “verbal argument which turned physical” inside of Whyte Jr.’s vehicle.
“At some point, the victim was shot while sitting in the car,” the statement read.
