Have you been jonesing for some holiday lights lately?
The Big Dark is back and a romp through some colorful Christmas displays might sound like a cheery way to usher in the holiday season. But whether or not you can even conceive of Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving, holiday lights enthusiasts will have one fewer stop to hit this season.
Enchant Christmas, the self-proclaimed “world’s largest Christmas light maze” that made a stop at T-Mobile Park in 2024, isn’t returning to Seattle this year.
The holiday extravaganza featured 80,000 square feet of light-up sculptures under the lofty roof of the ballpark, complete with an ice-skating rink, shopping village, a Ferris wheel, food vendors, live caroling, and its signature Christmas maze.
Enchant Christmas opened in Seattle on Nov. 22 last year. It was the attraction’s first year back to the Emerald City after a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
But this year, Seattle was left off of Enchant Christmas’ tour. In the years it skipped Seattle, Enchant Christmas visited cities like Washington, D.C., Dallas, and St. Petersburg, Florida. But in 2025, Enchant Christmas will be only in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, according to its website.
That might be all right with you if you prefer cozy and peaceful holiday outings. A Seattle Times review said Enchant Christmas could offer some cheery fun good for dark, drizzly days, but was quite lively with its multitude of eye-popping lights and loud, upbeat music. Not to mention that it was pricey at $27 to $48 for general admission.
Christmas lights seekers can still catch some festive colors at Candy Cane Lane in Ravenna, Snowflake Lane in Bellevue and many more local places.
