Field hockey
Marriotts Ridge 3, Reservoir 0: The Mustangs shutout the Gators and move into the Class 3A South Region I final. Danyel Berman, Sadie Perrier and Caroline Wojtech each scored, while Sedona Kaplan and Wojtech had assists.
South Carroll 3, Francis Scott Key 2: Maddie McNamara made 10 saves and Alayna Enoff had a goal and an assist to lead the visiting Cavaliers over the Eagles in Class 1A. South Carroll scored the go-ahead goal in the fourth quarter. The Cavalier got a goal each from Rowan Miller and Kayla Janyska.
Manchester Valley 9, Winters Mill 0: Lily Brookhart scored a game-high five goals and the Mavericks shut out the Falcons at Coppermine 4 Seasons. Other standouts for Manchester Valley included Amanda Herold (2 goals, 2 assists), Ally Zour (1 goal, 1 assist), Lily Olshefski (1 goal), Makenna Etzel (3 assists), Carolyn Lowe (1 assist), and Kaitlyn O’Byrne (1 assist).
Bel Air 3, North Harford 2: Amelia Mason had a goal and an assist to lead the host Bobcats over the Hawks in Class 2A. Lily Franz scored both goals for North Harford and gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead in the first quarter. Other standouts for Bel Air included Lila Hodgson (1 goal), Annie Donahue (1 goal), and Avery Frank (1 assist).
Mt. Hebron 2, Centennial 1: Tylar Fleck scored both goals to lead the Vikings in the win as they advance to the Class 2A West Region I final. Kaelyn Cisna made six saves for Mt. Hebron. For Centennial, Ava Rudy scored and was assisted by Claire Whipkey. Jane Baldy made 16 saves for the Eagles.
Long Reach 16, Oakland Mills 0: Leilani Stewart netted a career-high eight goals and two assists, including her 200th career point. Samantha Legge added a hat trick and four assists. Seven different Lightning players scored and nine registered a point.
Glenelg 8, River Hill 0: Lakshmi Almli and Caroline Latchis each netted hat tricks to lead the way for the Gladiators. Lexi Winters and Meghan Walker each scored as well with the Gladiators advancing to the region final.
Girls volleyball
Perryville 3, Edgewood 1: The host Panthers beat the Rams. Perryville won, 22-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-21. Edgewood was led by Ava Supan (9 digs, 13 assists), Jael Erickson (20 digs, 5 kills), Madison Osborne (5 kills, 5 blocks), Mo Rohner (1 kill, 7 blocks), Peyton Parise (21 digs), and Samaya Cox (12 digs, 8 kills).
C. Milton Wright 3, North East 1: The Mustangs beat the Indians. C.M. Wright won, 25-12, 25-15, 23-25, 25-17. The Mustangs were led by Samantha Shoemaker (4 kills, 2 blocks), Izzy Shaw (9 kills, 3 aces, 3 digs), Lizzie Costello (6 kills), Paola Mendez (4 kills, 6 aces), Stella Musto (3 kills, 1 block) Luna Musto (11 assists, 2 aces, 4 digs) Mallory Davis (10 assists, 4 digs). Addison Bradley (11 digs, 4 aces, 1 assist), Ella Vogel (3 aces, 4 digs), and Emma Buxton (1 assist, 5 digs).
Bel Air 3, Patterson Mill 0: The Bobcats swept the Huskies in an Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference semifinal. Patterson Mill was led by Sophie Lopano (6 kills, 15 digs, 1 assist), Samiyah Hubbard (6 kills, 5 digs), Brooke Bazzett (12 assists, 4 aces).
