With the holidays fast approaching, Amazon and Target are seeking more help to fill those stockings in Hampton Roads.
E-commerce giant Amazon is hiring for 250,000 seasonal positions, including 11,500 jobs in Virginia and more than 2,000 in the Hampton Roads region.
The positions, with flexible scheduling options, include an average wage of more than $19 per hour. Open jobs include various part- and full-time warehouse shifts, such as fulfillment, sortation and delivery.

Target wants to hire more than 300 seasonal employees in Hampton Roads for its supply chain facilities.
The goal is to support the retailer’s investment in the region’s workforce and ensure a joyful holiday shopping experience for customers while creating a recruitment pipeline for future opportunities, Daniel Fogarty, Target’s senior site director, said in a news release.
Target’s seasonal hires earn a starting wage of $15 to $24 an hour, depending on role and location, according to a news release. They also receive benefits that include access to 24/7 virtual health care and mental health support, a 10% shopping discount and another 20% off wellness-related products.
Positions include cashiers, cart attendants, general merchandise, fulfillment and stocking. Job descriptions and an application are posted at TargetSeasonalJobs.com.
