Ballet Arkansas’ ‘The Legend of Sleepy Hollow’ Takes the Stage This Week

October is a month of spooks and shadows, and it’s getting even more mysterious with the return of Ballet Arkansas’ production of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.”

The show will take the stage at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts on Oct. 9-12, bringing Washington Irving’s legendary tale of the Headless Horseman to life.

“When we first brought ‘Sleepy Hollow’ to life in 2019, audiences were captivated by its originality and atmosphere,” says Michael Fothergill, executive and artistic director. “This fall, we’re reworking the production to lean into intimacy and dramatic impact, allowing audiences to experience the legend in an entirely new way. To present this work at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts — a place we are honored to call home — makes the production even more special, just in time for Halloween.”

A historical drama like no other, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” will transport audiences into a world of sweeping visuals, expressive movement and a stirring score that will keep them on the edge of their seats. The production will also mark the first performance of the season to feature four new professional company artists: McKenna Ulbrick, Liev Ewart, Claire Churchill and Allen Sizemore.

“The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” performances will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 9-11, with 2 p.m. matinees on Oct. 11-12. Tickets can be purchased here.
