Jadyn Holdenried scored in the 19th minute, and the Washington women blanked No. 4 UCLA 1-0 at Husky Soccer Stadium on Saturday to move to the top of the Big Ten table.
Washington improved to 7-1-5 overall and remained unbeaten in league play at 4-0-2.
UCLA fell to 8-3-1 overall and 4-1-1 in conference matches.

• Jordyn Young scored on an assist from Aaya McLyn and the Washington State women (3-4-4, 1-1-1 WCC) played to a 1-1 draw with host San Diego.
• U’i Kaaihue, Marla Gaudlitz and Caroline Penner all scored for the Seattle U women (4-2-5, 0-2-1 WCC) in a 3-3 draw with host Santa Clara.
• The Seattle Pacific women (3-3-3, 1-2-1 GNAC) lost to Western Washington 3-0.
• Gavrilo Civric had a goal and an assist as the Seattle U men (3-3-4, 1-0-1 WCC) defeated visiting Pacific 5-2.
• The 17th-ranked Seattle Pacific men (6-1-2, 1-0 GNAC) cruised to a 4-1 win over visiting Northwest Nazarene.
VOLLEYBALL
• Simona Mateska had 10 kills, 10 digs and three blocks and Washington (7-7, 2-2 Nig Ten) swept visiting Iowa 25-19, 25-14 and 25-11.
• Taryn Vrieling had 15 kills with a .571 hitting percentage as Washington State (10-4, 4-0 WCC) continued its dominant start to league play with a 25-17, 25-14, 25-18 sweep over visiting Gonzaga.
• Katelynn Albano had a team-high seven digs and added five assists and two aces, but visiting Seattle U (6-9, 0-4 WCC) suffered a 25-19, 25-17, 25-17 loss to Portland.
• Seattle Pacific (6-8, 1-5 GNAC) dropped a five-set thriller to Central Washington by scores of 18-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-21, 15-8.
CROSS COUNTRY
• Seattle U’s Azalea Groleau finished seventh in the women’s 5K with a time of 17 minutes, 23.20 seconds at the Charles Bowles Invite in Salem, Ore.
TENNIS
• The Washington State women won three of their four matches on the second day of the Duck Invitational in Eugene, Ore.
HOCKEY
• Shea Busch posted a hat trick and added two assists as the Everett Silvertips (4-0-1-0) routed the visiting Victoria Royals 9-4.
• The Penticton Vees crushed the visiting Seattle Thunderbirds (2-3-0-0) 10-4.
