Little Rock Nine 68th Anniversary at the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site // The Arkansas Association of Black Psychology Professionals, City of Little Rock, Friends of Little Rock Central High School NHS, Jefferson National Parks Association, Little Rock Police Department and Philander Smith University are joining forces to commemorate the desegregation of Central High, including a discussion on psychological trauma with members of the Little Rock Nine. River City Men’s Chorus Fall Concert at St. James United Methodist Church // We like the sound of this. In its 22nd season opener, the local chorus will perform “The Magic of Stage & Screen,” a concert featuring some of the most beloved pieces from movies, TV, Broadway and beyond. Rooftop Cinema at 100 Center St. // Time for another movie night with a view. Next in the lineup for the downtown film series is “Paddington in Peru,” where everyone’s favorite marmalade-loving bear goes on a jungle adventure. Big Dam Bridge 100 // Get on your bikes and ride, Little Rock. With this race marking a milestone 20 years, cyclists can take on 15-, 26-, 50-, 75- or 105-mile courses covering both Little Rock and North Little Rock, winding down the River Trail, crossing the Big Dam Bridge and on through the metro. Want to party after pedaling? Hang out at the finish line for the Finale Fest (or kick off the weekend early at the Gears and Beers athlete reception on Friday). ‘Tis the season: Your Guide to Pumpkin Patches in Central Arkansas

“Death of Kings” at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts // Arkansas native Ben Grimes brings this production to the AMFA stage following a soldier from enlistment and deployment to reintegration, while drawing from his own experiences in military service. Following each performance, showgoers can take part in “a deeper exploration of techniques designed for healing and coping with trauma.” Learn more here.
