D’Youville Kavinoky Theatre Presents the Timeless Play, The Game of Love and Chance

The D’Youville Kavinoky Theatre is thrilled to invite audiences to its 2025 fall Curtain Up! production of The Game of Love and Chance, a timeless romantic comedy full of scandal, secrets, and mistaken identities with a modern twist. Directed by Chris Hatch, this sparkling adaptation of Marivaux’s classic opens live on the Kavinoky stage for fifteen performances running

September 19th through October 11th, 2025.
This witty, fast-paced comedy follows Silvia, a spirited aristocrat, and Dorante, her equally noble suitor. Unbeknownst to one another, both have swapped places with their servants to secretly observe their intended betrothed. What results is a wildly entertaining dance of disguise and emotion, filled with clever turns and heartfelt surprises. As one character states, “it is a plot that cannot fail to amuse us.”

The Cast of The Game of Love and Chance features Solange Gosselin as Silvia, Rachael Fedor- Buchanan as Lisette, Talon Powell as Dorante, Dave Spychalski as Harlequin, Harris Skinner as Mario, and Mike Garvey as Orgon.

The Production Team of The Game of Love and Chance is led by Chris Hatch as Director, Assistant Direction and Prop Mastering by Kai Crumley, Intimacy Direction by Lindsay Brandon Hunter, Choreography by Kennedy Jordan, Set Design by Marc Quattlebaum, Lighting Design by Brian Cavanagh, Costume Design by Collin Ranney, Hair/Makeup Design by Collin Ranney, Paint Charge and Scenic Artistry by Shannon Halloran, Wardrobe Supervision by Amaya Mack, Sound Design by Geoff Tocin, with Production Stage Manager, Derek Moran, Asst. Stage Manager, Dino Bruce, and Build Crew, Jessica Speice, Aaron Koscielniak, J.C. Hartloff, and Jackie Renaud.

The Kavinoky Theatre’s production infuses the play with modern flair, ensuring audiences can
expect a poppy, polished, and playful evening. Guests are encouraged to enjoy drinks and refreshments
from the theater bar, mingle in the beautiful lobby space, and make an evening of it.

Performances of The Game of Love and Chance will take place on Fridays (9/19, 9/26, 10/3,10/10) at 7:30pm, Saturdays (9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/11) at 2:30pm, Saturdays (9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/11) at 7:30pm, and Thursdays (9/25, 10/2, 10/9) at 7:30pm. Several special events will be held during the run of the show. These events include Post-show Discussions on Thursdays (10/2, 10/9) at 9:30pm, a Cocktail Hour on Thursday, 9/25, at 6:00pm, a Trivia Night on Friday, 10/3 at 6:00pm, and an exclusive VIP Night on Friday, 9/26 at 6:00pm for subscribers, donors, and partners. Tickets are $55.00 for Adults, $49.00 for Seniors, and $40 for Active Military and Veterans. Further discounts are available through the box office.
