Man, 19, indicted in attempted murder of boy, 17, in Nanakuli

An Oahu grand jury indicted 19-year-old Kaison Kaholo for second-degree attempted murder in the early morning Saturday shooting of a 17-year-old boy at Zablan Beach Park in Nanakuli.

The shooting occurred early Saturday morning when occupants from two vehicles exchanged gunfire before fleeing the park.

The 17-year-old is Kamakea Iaea, who was declared brain dead.

Kaholo was also indicted for carrying or use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, a Class A felony, and place to keep a firearm, a Class B felony.

If convicted of second-degree attempted murder, he could face a life sentence with the possibility of parole.

Kaholo is being held without bail at the Oahu Community Correctional Center.
