The County Music Association’s newly announced nominations feature a strong Alabama contingent, including one artist tied for most nominations for the upcoming 59th annual CMA Awards.
Ella Langley, the breakout artist from Hope Hull, is tied with Megan Moroney and Lainey Wilson for most nominations, with six. Riley Green, Langley’s duet partner on “You Look Like You Love Me,” isn’t far behind, with four.
They aren’t the only Alabama folks in contention. A look at who’s up for what:
Ella Langley – The singer, who recently returned to public view after several weeks of rest and recuperation, is nominated for Single, Song, Female Vocalist, Musical Event, Music Video and New Artist of the Year. “You Look Like You Love Me” is her entry in Single of the Year, Song of the Year and Music Video of the Year; her team-up with Riley Green on his “Don’t Mind If I Do” is up for Musical Event of the Year.
Riley Green – Green, who’s from Jacksonville, is nominated along with Langley for Single of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year, all for “You Look Like You Love me,” and for Musical Event of the Year.
Little Big Town – The quartet, which includes Jimi Westbrook of Sumiton and other members who met at Samford University, is a nominee for Vocal Group of the Year.
Red Clay Strays – The breakout roots-rock group from the Mobile area continues to gain recognition. It too is nominated as Vocal Group of the Year.
