Paramount has reversed its decision to renew “Dexter: Original Sin.”
Variety reports the entertainment company has decided not to move forward with a second season of the series.
“Dexter: Original Sin” stars Michael C. Hall as forensic scientist turned serial killer Dexter Morgan. The original “Dexter” series ran from 2006 to 2013. “Dexter: Original Sin” is a prequel set in 1991, chronicling Dexter Morgan’s origin story. The series stars Patrick Gibson as a teenage Morgan.
Here’s a description of the show, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly:
“By the end of the 10-episode season, Dexter perfected his killing ritual, his sister Deb (Molly Brown) started her career as a cop at Miami Metro, and his older brother Brian Moser a.k.a. the Ice Truck Killer (Roby Attal) became a serial killer while watching Dexter from afar.”
Entertainment Weekly reports the move comes on the heels of Paramount’s merger with Skydance.
Netflix cancels popular show after just one season
Netflix has canceled crime drama series “The Waterfront” after one season.
The show followed North Carolina’s influential Buckley family and starred Jake Weary, Melissa Benoist and Maria Bello.
Deadline reports Netflix didn’t feel viewership and completion rate, which is the percentage of viewers who watch a piece of content from beginning to end.
