Arthur A. Geaumont

SCARBOROUGH – Arthur A. Geaumont, 88, longtime resident of Hillside Avenue, passed away on Aug. 28, 2025, following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Biddeford, a son of Albert and Simonne (Bourassa) Geaumont. He graduated from Old Orchard Beach High School in 1955.

He began working at Pepperell Mill in Biddeford. In 1960, he married the love of his life, Gloria Skillings. He began helping Gloria’s brother-in-law in his construction business, which was the beginning of a lifelong career in construction. He worked as a foreman at Langford & Low in Portland for 48 years.

He enjoyed the outdoors, loved watching western movies, Johnny Cash, John Wayne, feeding birds, cutting and splitting his own firewood and especially enjoyed eating at Ken’s Seafood.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gloria Geaumont; children, Jeff Geaumont, Jennifer Geaumont and James Geaumont; grandchildren, James Geaumont, Joseph Geaumont, Julia Losardo, Jacob Hackett, Aaron Madison, Caitlin Clark; and a sister, Cecile Champagne. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Maine Medical Cardiac Intensive Care Unit for all their support and compassion.

Visiting hours will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7, at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress St., Portland.
