This fall, the Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University invites you to reconnect—with art, community, and the stories that shape us. As part of its ongoing mission to honor living artists in its collection, CAM continues its Artist Lifetime Membership initiative—celebrating creative legacy with every event.
Lewiston, NY August 21, 2025—The Castellani Art Museum (CAM) of Niagara University is pleased to announce its dynamic schedule of Fall 2025 public programs. From concerts and workshops to mindfulness sessions and panel discussions, this season reflects the museum’s commitment to artistic exploration, cultural dialogue, and community connection.
This fall marks the continuation of CAM’s groundbreaking Lifetime Membership Initiative, which honors all living artists represented in the museum’s permanent collection. These artists will be celebrated at every major public program throughout the season, including exhibition openings, concerts, and events. As part of the museum’s long-term vision, the initiative reinforces CAM’s role as a cultural steward and advocate for creative legacy.
The season kicks off in September with CURRENTS: Panel Discussion on Thursday, September 18, from 6–7:30 p.m., featuring artists from the Hunt Gallery Residency sharing how their practice was transformed and the ongoing impact from the WNY based program.
CAM also restarts its popular YOGA @ CAM series with Full Circle Mind & Body from Lewiston on select Fridays: September 12, September 26, October 10, and October 24, 12–1 p.m. This series, located in the central art gallery, will enable guests to recharge through the experience of art and movement.
On Wednesday, October 8 from 11 a.m.–1 p.m., the CAM Meets series returns with renowned local sculptor Susan Geissler for an intimate artist talk on public art and creative practice. The season also features a Folklife Workshop on wirework jewelry with Taran Kohli Ahuja on Saturday, October 11, from 1–4 p.m., offering guests hands- on experience with traditional metal-twisting techniques.
Fall exhibitions Landscapes of Memory and Mortality by Ed Wong-Ligda and Dignity: Art as a Lens for Social Justice open with a public reception on Thursday, October 23 from 5–7 p.m. This evening of art, community, and conversation invites guests to explore themes of justice, mortality, and human dignity through powerful
contemporary work.
Additional highlights include CURRENTS: Myths in Music, a concert inspired by Jessica Gadra’s art in partnership with the Lewiston Council on the Arts on
Thursday, November 6, and CAM Meets: Film Screening of Ai Weiwei’s: Yours Truly on Wednesday, December 10, from 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
In December, CAM’s inaugural two-day Holiday Art Market will take place on Friday, December 12, and Saturday, December 13, from 11 a.m.–5 p.m. featuring local artists, galleries, and artisan vendors, offering visitors a festive opportunity to support regional creativity and community spirit. A festive Folklife Workshop on beadwork ornament-making with Tina Mt. Pleasant (Tuscarora Nation) will also take place on Saturday, December 13 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and provides a hands-on opportunity to learn and preserve Indigenous cultural traditions.
Throughout the season, CAM continues its free Art of Mindfulness series with Mitchell Alegre, Niagara University Professor of Management and Leadership, and maintains a welcoming environment for all—offering free parking year-round.
