If you’re looking to play golf for a good cause, you’re in luck. Across the metro, local nonprofits and organizations are teeing up golf tournaments that do more than bring competition to the greens. These fundraising events offer seasoned and amateur golfers a chance to enjoy the sport while supporting missions like youth programs and medical care.
Here’s the lineup of golfing events that give back this fall.
RMHC Golf Scramble
Tee off at the Pleasant Valley Country Club for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas & North Louisiana’s annual fundraising tournament. Set for Aug. 25, the event will also include great food and prizes, all to support RMHCAR-NLA’s missions to provide comfort and care to families with ill or injured children. Urban Promise Golf Tournament
Make a difference in a young person’s life through this fourth annual event held on Monday, Aug. 25, at the Burns Park Golf Course. The tournament supports Urban Promise, a nonprofit that equips children and young adults with the skills necessary for academic achievement, life management, spiritual growth and leadership. Centers Classic
More than 50 teams will compete in the 35th annual Center Classic tournament to raise funds for The Centers’ mission to provide comprehensive, integrated care for all. Hosted at the Pleasant Valley Country Club on Monday, Sept. 8, the tournament will have morning and afternoon flight options available, which include a raffle, games, team photos, a player’s tee gift and an awards ceremony. Sam Sanders Memorial Golf Tournament
Arkansas Enterprises for the Developmentally Disabled (AEDD) is hosting its annual Sam Sanders Memorial Golf Tournament on Sept. 8 at the Maumelle Country Club. Bolo Bash Golf Tournament
Enjoy a beautiful day of golf out at the Chenal Country Club during the Baptist Health Foundation’s Bolo Bash Golf Tournament. The tournament will be held Sept. 15-16 and features an expansive lunch buffet, contests, prizes and a special gift for each player. New this year is an all-female team competition. Funds raised will support facility expansion, program enrichment and improvements to increase student enrollment at the Baptist Health College Little Rock. AMDPA Golf Tournament
A day of competition, connection and community impact will be held on Friday, Oct. 3, in support of the Arkansas Medical, Dental and Pharmaceutical Association (AMDPA). The 33rd annual event will be held at the Eagle Hill Golf Course where every swing will help support scholarships for future health care professionals of color. Catholic Charities of Arkansas Golf Tournament
On Oct. 13, Catholic Charities of Arkansas will host its 30th annual golf tournament to raise funds to help provide families with medical assistance, immigration services, disaster services, prison ministry, refugee resettlement, assistance for victims of domestic violence and more. The event is a four-person scramble, and the tee time begins at 1 p.m. Players entry fees include carts, lunch and refreshments. To sign up or learn more, click here.
Simmons Bank Championship
This PGA Tour Champions playoff event returns to Pleasant Valley Country Club for its second year on Oct. 20-26. The 54 leading players will battle it out for prize money and their spot in the final event of the season, while all net proceeds will be donated to several nonprofits in Arkansas through the Arkansas Champions Trust, a nonprofit organization established to distribute net revenue from the tournament to charitable organizations each year. Most recently, the Arkansas Champions Trust donated $100,000 to First Tee of Central Arkansas, which supported the purchase of a new passenger van and the hiring of a full-time outreach director.
