Man sentenced to prison after filming 11-year-old girl in her bedroom, girls changing at Wrentham Outlets

A California man was sentenced to 16 years in prison for filming an 11-year old girl changing in her bedroom and transporting child pornography. 

Jacob Guerrero, 27, of Woodland, C.A., was also sentenced to five years of supervised release after serving his prison sentence, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced on Tuesday. 

For two weeks in 2021, Guerrero stalked the 11-year old victim and her siblings to learn their bedtime routine of showering and changing. On March 17, 2021, Guerrero climbed onto the garage of the victim’s home and recorded her changing into her clothes through a second-story window.

“Jacob Guerrero is a deeply disturbed and dangerous man who devised a twisted plan to prey upon children, specifically to abuse and exploit them,” Ted E. Docks, Special Agent in Charge of the Boston Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, wrote in the announcement. “With these hideous crimes, this predator has forfeited his right to walk among us and will be kept behind bars and away from children for quite some time.”

Officials began looking into Guerrero following reports that he attempted to record female minors in bathrooms and changing rooms at the Wrentham Outlets, utilizing pen cameras on his shoes and while dressed in a wig and women’s clothing. 

Guerrero also took note of the routines of other children in homes across the state, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. 

During the summer of 2019, Guerrero filmed several minors, as young as 8 years old, in New Jersey, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Originally arrested and charged in 2022, Guerrero pleaded guilty to one count of sexually exploiting a child in August 2024 and one count of transportation of child pornography in May.

“A core tenet of the mission of the Department of Justice is to keep communities safe, especially children and other vulnerable members of society. Mr. Guerrero targeted young children by tracking their moves and then, even worse, violated one young girl’s privacy while she was in the safety of her own home, all for his own sexual gratification.” said United States Attorney Leah B. Foley wrote in the announcement.
