Honolulu firefighters extinguished a two-alarm fire Friday afternoon at a two-story home in Waimanalo.
Two occupants were able to get out of the residence on their own and were uninjured.
HFD said it received a 911 call at noon and responded to 41-0978 Waikupanaha St, with 9 units staffed with 34 personnel.
The first unit to arrived reported that the second floor was fully engulfed in flames, and that there was a 124-gallon propane tank was on the first floor lanai. Crews worked to cool the propone tank and put out the fire while a second unit worked to secure a water supply.
A downed power line was deenergized by Hawaiian Electric Co. and the blaze was fully extinguished at 2:56 p.m.
The HFD Fire Investigator will determine the origin and cause along with damage estimates.
