Last weekend, the Birmingham Festival Theatre team discovered that the theater company had been burgled after a performance. With finances tight, the historic local theater company needs your support—read on to learn more and see how you can help.
Birmingham Festival Theatre burgled & needs your help

Founded in 1972, the Birmingham Festival Theatre is a local theater company dedicated to creating “quality theatre that challenges and entertains our audiences and nurtures talent.” Based out of a historic space above Golden Temple in Five Points South, the Birmingham Festival Theatre is now on its 52nd season of live theatre in the Magic City.
Today, the theater company announced on social media that it had been burgled after a performance last weekend.
“Last weekend BFT board members discovered that BFT had been robbed. No one was injured or likely present during the time this shameful, horrible event happened. To be even more transparent, BFT has already been in a tight financial position to the point of contemplating if keeping our doors open is even sustainable. This robber hit us after a show when they knew we would have cash and knew exactly where we kept it. Knowing it was someone who knows us has been the biggest kick to the face. How can you help? Buy a ticket or tickets to a show. There is even one running this weekend. Donate. Volunteer your time. Make your friends and family buy tickets to shows. Donate. Share. Rinse, repeat.”
