A car hit and killed a 6-year-old child in Forest Grove on Friday, police say.
The fatal incident happened around 4:10 p.m. in a parking lot near the intersection of Pacific Avenue and Laurel Street, the Forest Grove Police Department said in a statement.
Police are not releasing the identity of the child or the driver who allegedly hit them, but police said that the crash killed the child at the scene. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said.
Forest Grove police and Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating the incident, and police ask anyone with information to call the department at 503-629-0111.
