Buffalo, N.Y. – May 21, 2025 – The Western New York Book Arts Center presents the 14th Annual Bookfest fundraising event in conjunction with an exhibition in the Main Gallery by its Member Artist Community, the 17th Annual Members’ Show. An opening reception for the member show will run concurrently with BookFest and be held Saturday, June 28th, 2025 from 11am-4pm.
About the 17th Annual Members’ Show, opening June 28th 11am-4pm: The annual Members’ Show is one of Book Arts’ most cherished events. This exhibition will feature over 30 works from Book Arts’ diverse community of artists and makers, shedding light on the various artistic practices and unique talents of each member. Membership at Book Arts supports ongoing educational programming in its studios as well as out in the Western New York community. The member show will be on view June 28th – July 26th, 2025.
About the 14th Annual BookFest Event, Saturday, June 28th 11am-4pm:
Print for all ages! Get creative with Book Arts fun, free, and family friendly art making activities, hands-on outdoor printing, an artist market, and more.
• Steamroller Printing – Watch artist carved blocks get inked up for large-scale printing on the street!!
• Outdoor printmaking all day – We’ll have multiple hands-on presses operating outside (and inside our cool studios) all day! Create prints with us – from hand-carved blocks to stencils, printing plates and more! Meet the artists, observe, and participate in the printmaking process.
• Hands-on workshops for all ages – including letterpress printed posters, bookmaking using specialty equipment, and screen printing wearables – come with your own fabric item (t-shirt or tote bag for FREE printing or buy one from us)
• Pop Up Artist Market – highlighting WNY craftspeople, artisans, and writers. Peruse through local vendors specializing in book arts, printing, and handmade crafts. Proceeds raised from the event support the WNY Book Arts Center, our 501(c)3 arts education nonprofit.
