Batsto Village offers Friday the 13th ‘Hidden History Tours’

Are you feeling lucky on Friday the 13th of June?

History enthusiasts have a unique opportunity this Friday the 13th to discover the secret spaces and rarely seen corners of Batsto Village and Mansion.

The special “Hidden History Tours” will grant visitors access to behind-the-scenes areas not typically open to the public, including restricted sections of the Workers’ Cottages, General Store, and Mansion.

Led by Wharton State Forest’s interpretive staff, guests will view unusual artifacts from Batsto’s archival collection and learn to separate fact from fiction in Pine Barrens history.

Tours run approximately 90-120 minutes, departing from the Batsto Visitor Center at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Tickets cost $10 per person and can be purchased at the Visitor Center or by phone.

Space for these exclusive tours is limited, and advance ticket purchase is highly recommended to secure a spot.

Visitors should come prepared with comfortable walking shoes, as the tour involves navigating multiple staircases. Some portions of the tour will take place in confined spaces with low clearance.

For additional information or to purchase tickets, contact the Batsto Visitor Center at 609-561-0024, ext. 101.
