Authorities are searching for family members of three men who died recently in the Birmingham area, including a pedestrian who was struck while walking in a roadway.
Their bodies are ready to be released for burial, but the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has not been able to locate relatives to notify them of the deaths.
Sidney James Gipson, Jr., a 67-year-old white male, died May 18.
Gipson, who was homeless, was found dead under the U.S. 280 overpass at University Boulevard. A passerby walking in the area made the discovery just after 6 p.m. that Sunday.
Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said Gipson died of natural causes.
He listed previous home addresses in Birmingham Gadsden, Hayden, Pell City, Kansas City, Koshkonong, Thayer, and Tipton, Missouri.

Russell Kemp Acton, a 73-year-old white male who lived in Leeds, was found dead May 24 inside his home on Rowan Road.
Acton was found dead just after 6:30 p.m. that Saturday by Leeds firefighters who were asked to perform a welfare check.
Action also died of natural causes and listed previous addresses in Leeds and Birmingham.
Robert James Meeks, a 62-year-old white male, died at 1:41 a.m. May 31 at UAB Hospital.
Yates said Meeks, who was homeless, was a pedestrian walking in the roadway when struck by a motor vehicle.
He died from blunt force trauma sustained in the crash.
Meeks was reportedly born in New Jersey. A photo of Meeks was not available.
