Orion Amphitheater has added another New Orleans hip-hop icon to its fourth season. On Sept. 24, Lil Wayne hits the Huntsville venue, which already has a “No Limit Soldiers” reunion concert, headlined by Master P, June 27.
Lil Wayne is known for tracks like “Love Me,” “She Will,” “Lollipop,” “Forever” and “Mrs. Officer.” In the aughts, he released an platinum-plus selling trilogy of albums: 2004’s “The Carter,” ’05’s “The Carter II” and ’08’s “The Carter III.”
Tickets for Lil Wayne at Orion go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday via Orion’s box office, address 701 Amphitheater Drive N.W., and website.
Ticket pricing will be available online at 10 a.m. Wednesday, according to an Orion rep. Via email, that Orion representative says, “We are unable to disclose pricing until the first round of pre-sales begin.” More info at theorionhuntsville.com.
Support acts for the show include Tyga, known for hits like “Rack City” and Lil Wayne collabo “Faded.” Tyga’s also famous for dating the likes of reality star/businesswoman Kylie Jenner and pop-punk star Avril Lavigne. Atlanta trap rapper Belly Gang Kushington opens the show.
Lil Wayne just performed in Alabama in early May, at Birmingham’s Legacy Arena. The rapper drops his 14th studio album, titled “The Carter IV,” on June 6.
