The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts invites you to kick off your weekends on its historic grounds with the return of its free Fridays on the Lawn series.
Each Friday from now through the end of spring (May 23 – June 13), AMFA’s outdoor space will be filled with lawn games like bocce ball and cornhole, all open to the public. You can also try your hand at one of the sketching stations, where a Windgate Art School instructor will lead a short lesson on landscape drawing centered around the museum.
AMFA’s beloved pink puppet pup Flurffy will also be on site to lead kids on a fairy-fueled adventure complete with art projects, and on May dates educators will be treated to a complimentary drink.
Guests are, of course, welcome to explore the museum itself, including the full-service restaurant Park Grill.
Fridays on the Lawn first debuted in 2023, offering games in June and and concerts in October, all to exhibit “AMFA’s dedication to making art approachable in a fun and inviting setting.”
Picnic blankets, lawn chairs and pets are all allowed, though coolers, large bags and outside food or drinks are not.
Fridays on the Lawn run from 5-8 p.m. Learn more on the AMFA website and by following the museum on Facebook, X and Instagram.
