26 goats, 14 chickens and 5 sheep rescued by authorities in Clark County animal cruelty case

Clark County Animal Protection and Control officers, with the assistance of Clark County Sheriff’s deputies, seized 26 goats, five sheep and 14 chickens from the property of a man who has been charged with 45 counts of animal cruelty in the first degree.

The animals were rescued on May 7, according to a news release from Clark County officials. All the animals were relocated and received veterinary care and nutrition by the end of the day.

Authorities first began receiving reports about the animals in May 2023, when complaints alleged that goats on the property appeared malnourished, and were living in poor conditions.

According to the release, the numbers of animals on the property increased, and conditions became worse. When a neighbor reported that one of the goats had escaped from the property, authorities were able to provide enough evidence to obtain a search warrant.

The owner, Mohammad Aluauddin, was arrested and made a first court appearance on May 8. The judge at that time ordered that he can’t possess, own or care for any animals.

Animal Protection and Control will periodically check on the property, as ordered by the judge. Aluauddin’s next court appearance for the case is May 21.
