People travel from all over the world to experience the wonder of Niagara Falls, but there is nothing quite like seeing the falls by bicycle. We will ride up the Niagara Greenway Trail, tracing the rushing river all the way to the falls. We’ll top off an exciting day with camp-side experiences at Four Mile Creek State Park.
Taughannock Family Bike Weekend
Start biking from the southern shore of Cayuga Lake in iconic Finger Lakes city, Ithaca, NY. Ride up the shaded Black Diamond Rail Trail to Taughannock Falls, where you will camp next to the tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi!
Family Bike Weekends are non- competitive, social bike rides meant for the families to enjoy taking an adventure together and alongside other like-minded families. We have chosen bike-friendly routes, predominately on rail trails and canal paths through iconic areas throughout the Northeast. In the true spirit of bike touring, all trips will be filled with sightseeing stops including historic monuments, local treasures and often ice cream along the way!
Stay at scenic, family-friendly campgrounds, with plenty of opportunity for kids to play outdoors, and for all to share memories around a fire and over a camp-side meal.
All family bike trips will be supported, though individual families have the option for self-contained travel. A shuttle will be available at the trip start to load overnight gear. Participants are also welcome to carry their own gear either in bicycle panniers or a light backpack. Shuttle service will also be available in case of any bicycle maintenance issues along the trail. A bike guide and sweep will be present on all Bike Weekend rides.
