Argenta’s Dogtown Throwdown Kicks Off Season This Weekend

2020 had its silver linings. Case in point: Dogtown Throwdown.

What started as an outdoor dining experiment to keep restaurants running and guests socially distanced eventually morphed into a recurring block party on Main Street in the Argenta neighborhood, and it returns this month for the warm weather season.

The first Dogtown Throwdown of 2025 takes place April 11-12. From 4-10 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. – 10 p.m. Saturday, Main Street will be blocked off to traffic between Broadway and Fifth streets and will instead be filled with live music, local vendors, dining tables and tents serving up eats from neighborhood restaurants like Flyway Brewing, Reno’s, Draft & Table, Blackberry Market, Brood & Barley and Crush Wine Bar.

To help kick off the season, the weekend’s festivities also include Four Quarter Bar’s annual crawfish boil bash with music from Dikki Du and the Zydeco Krewe, as well as a springtime market at Flyway with vintage finds and local artists.

The Argenta Dogtown Throwdown is held on the second weekend of April, May, September and October. You can find more information on the Argenta Arts District website and follow along on Facebook and Instagram for the latest.
