Wet week of rainstorms, snow showers ahead

Rain will continue to douse the metro area and Eastern Plains on Sunday as snow wraps up in Colorado’s mountains, but spring storms will return across the state on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The strongest chance for rain in the Denver area after Sunday will be Tuesday between noon and 9 p.m. and Friday into the weekend, NWS forecasters said. Scattered showers could start as early as Monday night after a warm, dry day with temperatures near 61 degrees.

The Eastern Plains will see similar rainy weather accompanied by winds, forecasters said.

Temperature highs in Denver and on the Eastern Plains will hover in the high-40s and mid-50s through at least Friday as on-and-off rainstorms continue, forecasters said.

Colder overnight lows on Wednesday, near 27 degrees, could turn rain showers to snow flurries, according to forecasters.
