Hampton Carousel, located at 602 Settlers Landing Road, will open for the season April 1, and will celebrate with a Carousel Carnival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 5 featuring free rides and fun for the family.
The carousel was hand crafted by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company for the Buckroe Beach Amusement Park, and is operated by the Hampton History Museum. Built in 1920, the carousel has been completely restored to its original glory and is now housed in its own weather-protected pavilion.
Regular hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays, closed Mondays. Rider fees are $1 per ride. Tickets are on sale at the Hampton History Museum and at the Hampton Carousel.
The carousel will close for season on Dec. 31.
