The Powerball jackpot for Saturday’s lottery drawing has climbed to an estimated $444 million, with a cash option of $209.2 million.
The drawing will be held at 10:59 p.m. and televised on WABC-7 in New York City and Fox 29 in Philadelphia. NJ.com will publish the winning numbers after the drawing.
While no one across the country hit Wednesday’s $418 million jackpot, two second-prize tickets worth $2 million each were sold — one in Colorado and one in Texas.
Each matched five numbers but not the Powerball and were bought with the Megaplier for an extra $1, doubling the standard $1 million prize.
In New Jersey, three tickets worth $50,000 each were purchased.
The third-prize tickets, each of which matched four numbers plus the Powerball, were sold at the following locations:
- 7-Eleven on Pine Street in Morristown, Morris County
- News Shoppe on Haddonfield Road in Pennsauken, Camden County
- Gulf Food Mart on East Westfield Avenue in Roselle Park, Union County
In addition, no one hit the secondary $10 million Double Play drawing. Those winning numbers were: 7, 15, 36, 40 and 56. The Double Play number drawn was 8.
Wednesday’s winning numbers were: 8, 11, 21, 49 and 59. The Powerball drawn was 15, with a Power Play of 2X.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are more than 292 million to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers but not the Powerball and win a second-prize of at least $1 million. The odds of winning a third prize of at least $50,000 are 913,129 to 1.
Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot is worth $344 million, with a cash option of $161.5 million.
