Pro Football Focus graded Gibbens as the 12th-best linebacker among a pool of 189 players during the 2024 season.
Another day, another former Tennessee Titans player signed on with the Patriots.
The Patriots announced Wednesday that they have signed linebacker Jack Gibbens, who previously played for Mike Vrabel in Tennessee. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported Wednesday afternoon that Gibbens’ deal with New England is for one year.
Gibbens played the last three seasons with the Titans, recording 167 tackles over 29 career games.
The 26-year-old linebacker was in the midst of a breakout year with Tennessee in 2024, starting five of 10 games before suffering a season-ending ankle injury against the Vikings on Nov. 17.
He was playing some of his best football right before that ankle injury — recording 29 total tackles in his previous two games, including 14 alone in Tennessee’s overtime win over the Patriots in Week 8.

Despite coming off of an ankle injury, Gibbens stands as an intriguing value add for New England this season. Pro Football Focus graded him as the 12th-best linebacker among a pool of 189 players during the 2024 season.
New England’s linebacker room features several former Titans players, with Gibbens joining a grouping that also features Robert Spillane and Harold Landry.
Other holdovers within New England’s linebacker group includes Ja’Whaun Bentley, Jahlani Tavai and Christian Elliss, who signed an offer sheet with the Raiders Wednesday.
