Allen Street Art Opens 2025 Season with Debut Solo Exhibition by Collage Artist Michael Robert Seward

BUFFALO, NY – Allen Street Art is thrilled to announce its first major gallery event of the year, opening on Friday, March 7th, from 6-9 PM. The show, launching during Shop Allen Street’s First Friday “Gallery & Shop Hop” series, presents the debut of Michael Robert Seward’s first-ever solo exhibition, titled “Collage is Both Slowly Pouring Cement Into My Breath, and also Erasing My Singularity.”

The exhibition showcases Seward’s innovative approach to collage, which draws on themes of identity, preservation, and transformation through reclaimed media. Each piece is constructed from discarded materials repurposed into vibrant works of art that challenge the boundaries of form and meaning. Seward credits his five year stint living in Buffalo and the city’s rich cultural fabric as the foundation of his artistic practice. “[Buffalo’s] vibrant and cutting urge to create… is something to preserve,” says Seward of his decision to debut in the city that shaped his craft.

Don’t miss out — come celebrate with the Allentown community, meet Michael Robert Seward in person, and experience the beauty and innovation of his work. The event is free and open to the public, with the exhibit remaining on display through March 28th.

Allen Street Art will be changing out the art in their gallery space for each First Friday, with an exciting slate lined up for the remainder of 2025:
