Little Rock Weekend Guide: Feb. 20-23

The social calendar is still a bit icy and dicey as the city comes out of hibernation, but that doesn’t mean you have to be stuck at home. Let’s get into it.

Thursday, Feb. 20

Wine Pairing Dinner at Rusty Tractor Vineyards // Where better to host a wine pairing than a vineyard? Back for another installment of this delicious dinner series, Thursday’s menu will feature a four-course meal by Crave Catering highlighting Domaine Françoise André wines from the Burgundy region. Friday, Feb. 21

Third Friday Art Walk in Argenta // This monthly walk invites you to stroll through the Argenta Arts District’s lineup of special exhibits and events. Highlights include activities at The Innovation Hub and an open studio with Lee Lee Arts + Design and Bang-Up Betty. The Art Walk starts at 5 p.m. Learn more here.

 

Saturday, Feb. 22

Central Arkansas Polar Plunge at the Little Rock Racquet Club // Not over being cold just yet? Think warm thoughts and dive in to support Special Olympics Arkansas. If you’re not up for the plunge, put your dry dollars behind another polar plunger and you could even score a cash prize. Go time is 9 a.m. Learn more here.

Midsouth Black Expo at The Venue at Westwind // “The largest celebration of Black business in Arkansas” is back. Now in its 21st year, the event will once again bring together more than 100 performers, food vendors, artists, cultural exhibits and more under one roof. National Margarita Day across Little Rock // Salt or no salt, frozen or on the rocks, margaritas bring people together (especially after spending a few days frozen yourself). Central Arkansas Home & Garden Show at the Arkansas State Fairgrounds // Don’t let the groundhog fool you. Now’s the time to make your garden plans, and that goes for the interiors, too. Browse dozens of booths and meet all the pros that’ll help you build, landscape and remodel your space. Show hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. both days. Learn more here.

 

Sunday, Feb. 23

10th Birthday Party at Raduno Brick Oven & Barroom // Confetti cannons at the ready, boys. The pizzeria is celebrating a whole decade in SoMa with post-brunch menu specials, music and a hard launch of its new Sunday night dinner service. Be there 3-9 p.m. Learn more here.

Kristin Lewis at the Clinton Presidential Center // As part of Black History Month celebrations, the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame and Clinton Center are teaming up for this edition of ABHOF’s Distinguished Laureate Series XIV. The world-renowned opera star will participate in a fireside chat with Dr. Linda Holzer and Jurnee Taylor followed by a concert performance. It starts at 3 p.m. Learn more here.

Spotlight Cabaret at The Joint // Hosted by the Argenta Contemporary Theatre and The Joint, this monthly showcase puts the vocal talent front and center. Sibelius “Symphony No. 1” at the Robinson Center // Next up in the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s Masterworks Series is this show featuring the talents of violinist Simone Porter, direction of Geoffrey Robson and music of Valerie Coleman, Philip Glass and Jean Sibelius.
