5 N.J. counties under a high wind watch Sunday and Monday

The National Weather Service issued a high wind watch at 3:25 a.m. on Saturday valid from Sunday 6 p.m. until Monday 6 p.m. for Passaic, Hudson, Bergen, Essex and Union counties.

The weather service adds, “West winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph possible.”

“Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” says the weather service. “Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates. Fasten loose objects or shelter objects in a safe location prior to the onset of winds.”

Advance Local Weather Alerts is a service provided by United Robots, which uses machine learning to compile the latest data from the National Weather Service.
