The CALS Used Book Sale Returns This Weekend

Bookworms, rejoice. The sale your shelves have been craving is back again.

Thanks to the next CALS Used Book Sale on Feb. 13-15, your shelves (and wallets) will have never been happier.

As the CALS Main Library continues to undergo extensive renovations, the winter sale will take place at the Port Industrial Hub at 7773 Sloane Drive, where CALS administration offices are currently located.

Sale hours are 2-5 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, where paperback books will be available for just $1 and hardbacks for $2. All dates are open to the public, with or without Friends of Central Arkansas Libraries (FOCAL) membership.

The book sale is hosted by FOCAL and helps provide funds for the library’s Six Bridges Book Festival, Summer @ CALS, Arkansas Sounds concerts and other public programs across CALS’ 14 branch locations.

“The CALS Used Book Sale continues to be one of our most popular programs as it offers a service to the community and provides funds that help support other library programs,” CALS Development Specialist Lily Kauffman says. “We’ve enjoyed seeing the support and enthusiasm for the sale continue at our new location.”

Throughout the year, CALS encourages neighbors to donate books to help fuel these seasonal sales. Donations can be made at most CALS locations Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

For more information on the sale, visit the CALS website, and follow along on Facebook, X and Instagram for updates.
