Shooting at Tuscaloosa gas station leaves 1 wounded, 1 jailed

A Tuesday night shooting at a Tuscaloosa gas station left one man injured and another in custody.

Tuscaloosa police were dispatched at 10:30 p.m. to the Shell station in the 1500 Block of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd in Tuscaloosa on a shooting.

They arrived to find a 29-year-old man who had been shot multiple times, said Tuscaloosa County Violent Crimes Unit Capt. Marty Sellers.

The victim, whose name has not been released, is in stable condition, Sellers said.

Jermaine Lockett, also 29, is charged with attempted murder, tampering with physical evidence and certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm.

Sellers said Lockett and the victim had some kind of issues in the past that led to the shooting.

Locket remains held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail.
