Auburn football gets commitment from 4-star class of 2026 wide receiver

With the 2025 class signed and beginning to arrive on campus, Auburn football made a big addition to its 2026 class on Saturday.

Devin Carter, a four-star wide receiver, committed to Auburn Saturday afternoon, announcing his pledge during the Navy All-American Bowl.

Carter, a receiver from Douglas County High School in Georgia, is the No. 29 overall player in the 2026 class and the fourth-best receiver, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

During his junior season at Douglas County, Carter caught 41 passes for 669 yards and five touchdowns, according to MaxPreps. He chose Auburn over the likes of LSU, Ohio State, Alabama and others.

Carter’s father, Dexter, spent six years as a wide receiver in the NFL, winning a Super Bowl with the San Francisco 49ers in 1994.

Devin Carter becomes Auburn’s sixth 2026 commit and second wide receiver pledge, joining three-star Denairius Gray. He’s currently Auburn’s highest ranked 2026 commit, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
